Normal Operating Procedures for the Aerolite-103

Training:

AeroWorks recommends that you receive and complete a flight training coarse for Ultralight type aircraft, before you attempt to operate and fly your Aerolite-103.

Normal Take-Off:

Take off into the wind. Use full throttle, accelerate to 30 mph, rotate, and climb at Vy 45 mph. Clear all obstacles, climb to pattern or safe altitude, and accelerate to cruise flight.

Short Field Take-Off:

Take off into the wind. Use 15 - 20 degrees of flaps, use full throttle, accelerate to 30 mph, rotate, and climb at Vx 40 mph. Clear all obstacles, accelerate to Vy 45 mph, climb to pattern or safe altitude, and accelerate to cruise flight.

Cruise Flight:

Reduce power to 4600 - 6500 rpm / 45 - 63 mph indicated airspeed.

Descent:

Reduce power as needed. Fly 45 - 50 mph indicated airspeed. Use flaps as needed ( 0 - 40 degrees )

Normal Landing:

Enter pattern at 50 - 55 mph on downwind, turn to base maintain airspeed, turn from base to final, reduce speed to a minimum of 45 - 50 mph, use flaps as needed. Maintain 45 - 50 mph on final and wheels touch down at 30 mph. Hold nose wheel off until full elevator control is reached, and apply brakes as need.

Short Field Landing / Landing Over an Obstacle:

Enter pattern at 50 mph on downwind, add 30 - 40 degrees of flaps, apply only after landing strip is assured ( with 40 degrees of flaps , speed will dissipate rapidly, lower nose to maintain speed ) reduce speed to a minimum 40 mph from base to final. Maintain 40 mph on final and wheels touch down at 30 mph. Hold nose wheel off until full elevator control is reached, and apply brakes as need.

Cross Wind Landing:

Normal landing using crosswind landing technique.

Stalls:

Reduce speed to 26 - 35 mph ( depending on gross weight ). Stall will break straight forward when coordinated. Use normal stall recovery technique to once again maintain straight and level flight.

Spins:

Prohibited.

Aerobatic Flight:

Prohibited.

Warning:
Flying and operating the Aerolite-103 can result in property damage, serious injury, or even death to yourself and those in your path of operations. It is recommened that you receive proper flight training before you operate your Aerolite-103.
